We invite you to experience our wonderful little slice of Balinese paradise. Enjoy the idyllic atmosphere complete with panoramic rice fields, fun interactions between staff and guests, and Balinese traditions which all make Villa Agung Khalia a superb place to stay. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Villa Agung Khalia is a unique accommodation beyond the bustling streets of Ubud, a place where you can relax and realize the dream of experiencing the True Bali. We are set amongst the rice fields just ten minutes drive via free shuttle service from Ubud Market and the Palace. Being here allows our guests the opportunity to observe the cycle of life in the rice fields and daily activities of people in the nearby villages while still being close enough to enjoy all of the sites, cultural attractions, shopping and dining experiences that Ubud is famous for. Here you can fall asleep to the chorus of crickets, frogs and geckos and wake to the music of the abundant birdlife and the activities of the farmers as they start their work in the rice paddies.
You will marvel at early morning views from your balcony to Gunung Agung and its many sister volcanoes that stretch out to the northwest beyond the ever changing landscape of the fields as they move thru the growing cycle. Starting as a mosaic of tiles of rich ploughed brown earth to being flooded and turned into shimmering pools with palm trees mirrored in them, or seeing rows of small green seedlings meticulously set out by hand in perfect rows, and the beautiful shades of green as they grow before the golden hue of the mature crop as it comes time to harvest. You can easily spend a day just reading on your patio and swimming in your sparkling pool after breakfast at our restaurant above the gurgling river.
Villa Agung Khalia has grown out of a dream to create a sustainable partnership with the local community that provides guests with a taste of Balinese Architecture and Hospitality with Western design elements and amenities and a focus on keeping our impact on the environment to a minimum while doing so. To this end, our partner Agung has hired all of the staff from the local area and they will make you feel like part of a family. These are not people schooled in how to please tourists, they are genuine and gracious people who want to share their way of life. They will make every effort to provide anything you request and they will always be happy to find a way to help you fulfill your holiday dreams. Our staff will offer to take you on walks around the rice fields and into the villages to see where they live, meet their families and talk about their culture-they can guide you on bike rides, show you some secrets to traditional cooking, help you weave an offering, learn some of the movements of a graceful Balinese dancer or take you to observe a ceremony happening nearby.
Agung can organize almost any tour or experience you would like to have while you are visiting this area or other parts of Bali. And, if there is anything that he or the staff can't manage we are only a phone call or email away and we will do our best to see that things are just as you would want them.
